Inspection results for four licensing programs lived in extracts too large for Excel. Reports leadership asked for took weeks or months to assemble by hand.
What I built
- Built the first version within weeks of starting the role, using Power Query to handle data Excel could not open.
- Rebuilt and optimized the model as the data grew, so it publishes to the Power BI Service and refreshes faster.
- Wrote the measures behind the division's inspection coverage reporting.
- Documented the model so other analysts can maintain and extend it.
What changed
- Reports that took weeks now refresh on demand.
- Surfaced data errors and anomalies that led to corrections with the source teams.
- Feeds the division's annual inspection reporting, which I also audit and update.
